New work is emerging.

About

THE SHORT VERSION:

Fine artist. BFA in Photography. Did everything by the book…until it all fell apart.

I stopped making art & writing for nearly a decade.

Now I’m back, creating from a different place—less intellect, more intuition. Exploring the Divine Feminine, the inner world, destruction, rebirth, and everything in between.

This is the work that came from the journey.

THE LONG VERSION:

As a fine artist with a BFA in Photography, I used to lean on intellect alone. I used my intellect to present my work in exhibitions, get into graduate school, attend workshops & residencies around the world, and open my own studio. I did everything by the book.

Until the moment it all came crumbling down in 2016.

I quit graduate school, closed my studio, and locked up all of my art supplies.

A lot happened in a short amount of time. Naturally, I used my logic to doubt myself: “It must have been a fluke,” I surmised.

In archetypal tarot, a moment like this is represented by the Tower card. A king and queen are depicted falling out of a tower that has suddenly been hit by lightning. A metaphor for sudden change, dismantling a life that was built on rocky ground, destruction…a falling apart.

And fall apart I did.

In the past decade, life has taught me a lot...like a lot, a lottt.

Fast forward to present day.

One of the most important lessons is that the intellect alone is a weak foundation. Through struggle and loss, I’ve learned to listen to the inner world, intuitive nudges, the illogical parts of life…the abstract.

Some would call this the world of the Divine Feminine. That part of us all that is attuned to the underbelly of life in all of its seasons.

2016 began a season of disruption, for sure. But it made space for a new, stronger foundation.

A foundation I’ve been honing for the past two years, as I’ve begun creating & writing again.

The Star card follows the Tower. The Star represents the light at the end of the tunnel. Newfound hope, inspiration, and the promise of a new beginning.

Being an artist doesn’t mean that you are always producing work. Being an artist means you live a creative life. And destruction is a part of that creative cycle. So I’ve spent time shedding the old and welcoming the new.

The collections to follow represent this inner journey of mine in all of its aspects—the Towers, the Stars, the Divine Feminine, and everything in between.

Thank you for being here. I appreciate you <3
